The UNA chapter of Phi Beta Lambda recently brought home several awards from the Alabama state competition, with each of the 12 UNA students competing placing in the state's top three in at least one of their two events. Eleven qualified to compete at the National Phi Beta Lambda competition, to be held in Atlanta next month.

UNA offers two different types of on-campus employment: federal work-study and university work-study. Many off-campus positions are available to students as well. Which option is right for a particular student, however, depends upon a number of factors. "The advantages of off-campus jobs are that they tend to pay more, allow more hours, are close by and there are many more of them than on-campus jobs," said Career Services Director Patricia Blum.
Since this issue is meant for our lovely new SOAR students, I feel it is necessary to fill you in on ten things to look for this semester in sports. Last year saw near championship for both football and basketball. With this triumph came the tragedy of UNA failing to make the Division II volleyball tournament for the first time in 12 years.
