CALVIN WOODWARD Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON (AP) _ Still the underdog in a contest that won't quit, Hillary Rodham Clinton pulled off a feisty act of political survival in the Pennsylvania primary, defeating Barack Obama to keep her Democratic presidential hopes alive.
The new SGA officers were officially installed at the SGA Officer Transition and Inauguration Ceremony held last Wednesday in Banquet Hall B of the GUC. The purpose of the ceremony was to honor the 2007-2008 administration and its accomplishments as well as to install the new officers.
I transferred to UNA after two years at Northeast Mississippi Community College. Last May, I walked with my 2007 graduating class, but stuck around for another year to help out the leaderless Flor-Ala. This is my last issue. Tuesday was the last day to put in the several-hours-a-week that I usually give to this paper.
The international students at UNA put on their best act on the evening of April 16. The 6th annual Global Culture Night took place in Norton Auditorium, with a boisterous crowd made up of UNA students and Florence residents. The University Program Council, Florence Lauderdale Tourism and Shoals Family Success Center were the main sponsors of the event.
The UNA softball team can finally breathe. A year after missing the Gulf South Conference tournament by a half-game, the Lions are back in the playoffs, clinching a bid for the GSC Tournament last weekend despite being swept in a doubleheader against Alabama-Huntsville.
