Have you heard that one before? That your circumstance cannot dictate your outcome that you get? That if you put your mind to it, that you can do whatever you want to?
It is true.
Do you need examples? See Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey and many more. I know those are extreme. You’re probably saying “Chase, I can never be them. I am not in the same circumstances. I am just another name and number on this Earth.”
That, as well, is true. However, at one point they were just a name and number.
Then, they pushed.
I follow this account on instagram called ‘Mentality’. This account gives the most extreme motivation to its followers such as “F*** the attention. Just Grind.” or “Your own family and friends will talk s*** about you in the process of not wanting an ordinary life. This ain’t for the weak.”
I love following this account and occasionally repost some of their work that doesn’t involve the language. The reason I enjoy it is because even on my days where I feel like I can’t keep going or where I want to give up, I see these words that help me push.
Everyone has a crazy dream, whether it is to make the first robot that will change the face of the world or playing professional sports or owning their own island, everyone has one.
However, there is a difference between a dream and reality. A dream stays a dream until it is acted upon. If you don’t put in the effort then the only time you will ever see that dream is when you close your eyes.
Where you are born or to what kind of people you are born to or how much money or the schooling you get or any of it does not really matter. If you want to excel, it is up to that individual to do it.
There are advantages and disadvantages to all of those and it really can change the outcome sometimes.
But I know what you are saying, “Chase, if I don’t have the money, I can't get there. Chase, I’m not from the ideal place to make it anywhere big.”
This time, those are false. When there is a will, there is a way.
All those certain advantages of money, power, connections, etc. only gives people a head start. Your beginning can’t compare to someone's ending, so keep pushing.
These are all headstarts; if someone has money, it will only take them so far. Just because you don’t have the money or the power like other people do, doesn’t mean you can’t be successful. You might just take more time to get there.
Everyone that succeeds has the inner voice that tells them how they are gonna get there; how their dreams will become reality one day.
People use that when the negativity of life gets them down or when people start telling them that there is no way they can accomplish their dreams. The voice keeps pushing and fueling them to their eventual success.
So, what are your dreams? The dreams that you think you can’t contain without the right circumstances? The dreams that keep you up at night?
They are attainable. It just depends on how hard you work and how hard you want to work for the dreams to turn into reality.
The places you come from don’t determine how far you can go. The circumstances that you develop in only makes you stronger.
What is holding you back from being the next great person to do the unimaginable? People are going to tell you to quit and that you can’t make it to the next level. They will constantly tear you down so you believe in everything, but yourself.
As long as you believe in it and you put your head down and work. Nothing can stop you. Your circumstances don’t define you, they don’t dictate your future.
Now, it depends on how hard you work.
What can you accomplish when you put your all into it? What is eating you up inside and wanting to be let out?
You can blaze your own path. You can be the next big thing, no matter where you are from or what you have done.
Because, again, your circumstance is not your outcome.
